Spring has arrived!

At least at my house!
Yesterday my first crocus bloomed, bringing a little joy to the start of my day.
It only got better from that moment.
Last night The Port Coquitlam Heritage Society held its first Annual Museum Fundraiser Gala! It was a lot of hard work, but it payed off in spades. As the Co Chair of the Fundraising Committee, I am immensely proud of the evening. We raised 25% over our projections, close to $6,300. With the help of our keynote speaker Donald Luxton, the recipient of the 2009 Provincial Heritage award, we managed to boost awareness of our plight here within the community. This is the beginning of a new era, one supportive of preserving local heritage within our city.
Many local artist displayed their works for Auction.
A local Florist Karon Fuson supplied the flowers.
And donated the centerpieces! Gorgeous! The flowers, the art, the long stem roses on water picks for the guests, and a Jazz duo playing in the background really set a mood for the evening. The day started with crocus, and ended with roses.
Living in B.C. in late February, not a bad day to say good bye to winter.
